1. Shittens Disposable Mitten-shaped Wet Wipes, 20 Count
- SHITTENS 20 COUNT GIVES YOU 2 INDIVIDUAL PACKS OF 10
- THE ULTIMATE WET WIPE: If there's one universal truth that we can all agree on, it’s this: no one wants poop on their hands. We’re the first mitten shaped wet wipes that protect your hands while cleaning posteriors.
- WHO NEEDS IT: Anyone who poops. Or is around poop. Additionally, anyone who has a small child, a fur baby, or a grandpa. Shittens are a lifesaver for elderly adults, for a shower-on-the-go (after the gym or on the “walk of shame”), and on that camping trip. How many times has your dog's "number two" been closer to a “number one and a half"? Enough is enough! When you REALLY need a Shitten, nothing else will do(o).
- WE’RE THE SH*T: Shittens are made in the USA, eco-friendly, hypoallergenic and fragrance-free. Feel good about using Shittens to wipe your babies, pets and adults. Everybutty loves a cool, clean Shitten!
- HOW TO: After using it, make a fist. With your other hand, grab the bottom edge of the Shitten on the back of your hand and pull it up & over, creating an inside out "Shitten Ball" for easy disposal. Like all wet wipes, Shittens shouldn’t be flushed down the toilet (and seriously, a Shitten Ball is FAR less gross in your trash can than a used square wet wipe).

I've been bike commuting for a while in Denton. I used to do 6-7 miles one-way, but since my move, I'm down to 2-3 miles one-way :( I do it five days a week, 52 days a year, with maybe 5 days skipped a year due to severe weather.
You can definitely do 4 season commuting in Denton, but there's nothing wrong with 3 season. Winter commuting in Denton is great, as we rarely have ice or snow. Since you don't have to worry about road conditions, the thing to worry about in winter is going to be wearing proper clothing to keep comfortable. Dress in layers for your body, and get a balaclava/face mask/scarf/etc for your face. Winter commuting is great, in my opinion.
Summer is going to be the worst, as we will routinely hit a heat index of 100°+ F, but for a short commute like that, you can totally make it happen. It's best if you can shower when you get to your destination, or you can do a shower right before you leave and let evaporative cooling work in your favor without sweat. If you can't do that, get a [giant wet wipe]( https://www.amazon.com/10-pack-massive-biodegradable-residue-free-substitute/dp/B01NB09UJI ) to wipe yourself off before you get to work. Remember to stay hydrated, and bring a change of clothes for any weather where you will work up a sweat.
Rain is not fun, but I have a [rain suit](https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07CPDJ4TW/) and some rain boots/galloshes/Wellingtons, and that keeps me mostly dry through the torrential downpour. If you don't want to bike in the rain, that's totally fine! But on light rain days, it's rather enjoyable :)
For a 6 mile commute, an eBike might be overkill. If you haven't been riding your bike much, your first few days of bike commuting will suck, but you will get used to it quickly. Just stick with it for 5-10 rides before you commit to any major changes or purchases. Denton is pretty darn flat, so we don't have any giant rolling hills to work against (but you'll probably find some flatter routes if you try), so you won't need an eBike to help you up the steep climbs.
If you haven't yet, check out /r/bikecommuting for some more in-depth information and people who can provide more help as well :)
Ride happy!
A few things:
To start with, can we talk about ways to reduce the amount of grime getting on you? Because this is not inevitable. I have a pretty long commute, and I relube aggressively with a very persistent wet lube (Rock and Roll Extreme, which is probably the highest endurance high-performance wet lube), and it never gets on my pants or legs. What's actually happening to get you dirty?
That said, here's my recommended solution:
To start with, I'd keep a pack of baby wipes at your office. I recommend Bloom Baby Wipes. They come highly recommended, they're big, they're textured (which means they're way better at lifting up dirt), and they're really good for sensitive skin. They're also not expensive, so you can use a bunch if you need to. Good for wiping yourself down after a ride to get rid of sweat. As with any baby wipe, they'll dry out if you let them, so make sure to keep the whole container in a closed tub or big ziploc bag and stick it in a drawer out of the sun.
If you really want an emergency degreaser, there's a hack you can use. Use an alcohol-based lens cleaner. Here's a good one. It comes with a small sprayer and a big refill bottle. This probably seems like some no name bullshit brand, but it's actually a reputable company. Like Zeiss (a highly reputable lens company) used to sell this same cleaner, from this manufacturer, rebranded as one of their products. I carry the small spray bottle and use it for my computer screen and glasses, but if I really need to degrease myself, this will do it.
Note that most such alcohol-based cleaners are not good for your skin. Beyond just drying you out, they're sensitizers and can trigger skin conditions (this usually requires high concentrations and constant use). So use it to break up any grease your wipe can't handle, then wipe it all clean with a wipe, and maybe moisturize after that. This is a last resort hack, not something you should be doing all the time. I only bring it up because those spray bottles are tiny and will fit in your purse.
Speaking of something you can fit in your purse, you can buy standalone wipes which come in sealed packets, but they're kinda expensive. I keep a supply of Goodwipes as a backup. They sell them in both a big size for whole body wipes and a smaller size. There's also a pull pack, which I sorta don't recommend. It's way cheaper, but even though it's smaller than a pack of normal baby wipes, it's kinda too big for stuffing into a handbag. There's probably a brand out there that's better for cleaning, but I use these because my skin is extremely sensitive (like frequent contact allergy sensitive), and it's fairly gentle. Also not many brands come in individually sealed packets. If you want a cheaper hack, you can just stuff a few folded baby wipes in a good quality ziploc, squeeze the air out of it, seal it tightly, and stuff that in your purse. They should stay wet for a good while, and since they only cost a few cents each, it's no loss if they only last a few days.
Oh. Something related to your query but not quite what you're asking for. Buy a pack of disposable, heavy duty nitrile work gloves. Like actual work gloves, not the medical ones from the drug store. These are super good. Carry a pair to keep your hands clean if you need to handle your drive train during field repairs. When you're done, pull the gloves off from the base, and they'll turn inside out naturally, trapping the grime inside out. Pack the gloves out and toss them at work. The skin on my hands is soft enough that I basically can't torque anything by hand because it just slips, but these are textured and grippy, so these are also really good for me for wrenching at home too. They're also professional-grade, so they're really thick (why you want these instead of medical gloves), and they have a lot of cut resistance for disposable gloves.
The only thing that makes me angry is that by doing this, this tabloid of a gamer news site justified this guys investment by giving him a platform to spout a bunch of sexist hate. Lucina and Rosalina are slutty character designs? Are you KIDDING me?
People like this need to be allowed to waste away in obscurity, plain and simple. He may be causing fans some pain in the short term, but by buying so many so fast he's actually giving Nintendo more incentive to re-release these lines of amiibos down the road. Hell, this would probably be a great article to email to Nintendo for them to justify producing more stock. But giving him a platform to spout a bunch of hate was incredibly irresponsible, and thanking him and wishing him luck at the end just cemented this site's status as a garbage online tabloid in my eyes. So fuck this guy, and fuck this shitty "news site". End of story.
Edit: Haaahahaha, oh man. So I went ahead and called out the author of this rag on giving this douche a platform, and his response after just two messages is "Cry more please". So yeah, this is undeniably a clickbait article by a desperate blogger.
Edit 2: HOLY SHIT HE DELETED THE ARTICLE! Oh man this is too good.
So after the author decided to reply to me with a baby wipes link (https://archive.today/o/xBKVZ/http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00F547P6S/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?qid=1420830653&sr=8-1) I replied with this little gem to another user in the comment thread;
"Tabloid schmucks like this have no concept of accountability or self image, they just keep scraping the bottom of the barrel until they realize they’re digging themselves into a hole. I have no vested interest in this site, and he has no way to justify his support of this moron, so all I have to do is push a bit here and there to get his true colors to show brighter and brighter. It’s quite comical, really."
Immediately after that I archived the page, since I had a feeling he couldn't handle being called out;
https://archive.today/xBKVZ
I guessed right. Dude wiped the comment, but because of their shitty anonymous comments section, I was able to just keep putting it right back up there. Went back and forth maybe 3 times until good ol' Randy decided to pull the article entirely.
Honestly, this was probably the most dickish thing I've done in a long time, but I'm kind of happy with myself at the same time now that this asshole gets one less point of exposure in the world. Now this cagey fuck can go back to languishing in obscurity like he deserves to. Sorry to anybody who was late to the party to read the original article but......shit dawg, people like this (mario and the article author) deserve to be called out, and that's all I had to do.
Just a quick comment because I'm on mobile, and at work.
Fire starters - have backups for your backups. That could be extra water-proof strike anywhere matches in a container, Bic lighters, ferrocerium rods. You don't want to be without a fire.
Medical supplies - DO NOT SKIMP ON GOOD MEDICAL SUPPLIES, you need stuff for everything. While hopefully you never need to use it, it is imperative that you have a good comprehensive medical kit the normal bandaids, gauze, hydrocortisone, Neosporin, antibacterial wipes, alcohol pads, etc, etc. But you also need more less thought of things like: a good suture kit, splints, pain relievers like ibuprofen, advil, tylenol, even Nyquil maybe. Any of you your personal meds, or family member meds. (This is a very simple list btw)
Toiletries - Yeah, it's a topic nobody wants to discuss, I know. But hey, shit happens. You don't want to be in a stressful situation, and be drity, and uncomfortable too. Things like, toilet paper (some compressed coin tissues are small, light, and convenient. Will link below), wet wipes, condoms, tampons, feminine pads, soap(s), hand sanitizer, toothpaste, tooth brush, mouth wash, tooth brush, floss, lotion(s), BABY POWDER (very useful, and a godsend for if anything rubs down there). (Again this is just a short list)
Clothes - Rotate with the weather. Good comfortable breathable underwear are a must, same with socks, also double them, nobody likes soggy socks and underpants.
That's all for now.
Coin tissues:

High-tops are AWESOME! That's why! That black and aqua color is baller and you're going to have so many people stop you and comment on your amazing shoes. Plus, you like them! Reason enough! Treat yourself! <3
She can GET IT
Toilet paper add-on is always really helpful for me and my family!
But seriously girl, get those shoes. You're gonna look fabulous!
Get some Good Wipes and when you have a break / pee / slip away for a second, wipe 'er down and reapply deodorant. The smell comes from bacterial, so any kind of first aid alcohol wipes will also do the trick to kill bacteria, and then reapply deodorant.
Secret Clinical Strength is good, and you can also try Certain Dri like everyone else is saying, but definitely test in advance so you don't get a rash on the day of.
https://www.amazon.com/GoodWipes-Deodorizing-Biodegradable-Wipes-Vitamin/dp/B00KVNUP1A/ref=sr_1_1_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1469138673&sr=8-1&keywords=goodwipes
And if you have the budget for it, you can get botox in your underarms which paralyzes the sweat glands - no more sweat, no more smell. Pretty expensive and temporary but very effective solution.
I REALLY need toilet paper!! it is .94 cents over, but if you choose me I will gladly take the 36 count. My cat constantly tears up toilet paper and after bills I only have 50 dollars a week to live on. Toilet paper is important, but in order to be cost efficient you have to buy in bulk, and I just don't have the ability to take a huge chunk out of my budget for it. So I steal it from my parents since they live 15 minutes away. It would be awesome if my mom didn't have to call me asking what happened to all of the toilet paper in the guest bathroom =D
here's a few things your friend might like
one - two - three - four - five - six - seven
all of these items are off of my various wishlists, and if i win you can surprise me :) but i do believe your friend might like some of these items!
Here's my favorite, cost effective source of a good paper (not the really thin commercial stuff.) Can be bought in large quantities and ships for free. Easy to store. Much, much more paper than typical brands.

The website is not active, but it is registered with the campaign creators name.
But I agree that it looks very much like a resale.
EDIT 1: These Alibaba or these [Amazon gloves called "Shittens Disposable Mitten"] (http://www.amazon.com/Shittens-Disposable-Mitten-shaped-Moist-Wipes/dp/B00F547P6S) look quite similar :D
EDIT 2: User question regarding the Shittens:
>Are these re-usable?
Answer: If you turn them inside out they are perfectly reusable for a second time wipe.
Hahaha...
Ugh yes, I was having this problem recently, too. I just found degree motion sense with active shield and it's pretty effective.
These Pacifica wipes are also great for freshening up mid-day.
Nah, get slightly rough tp to ensure scraping clean. but always follow up the dry paper with a wet wipe. I like Wet Ones Fresh 'n Flush for travel, and Target has the best deal on a home pack... can't find them online but they come in a blank white tub with a green label on the wrapper. The key is they're called "medicated wipes".
The important thing is the combo of aloe for soothing effects and witch hazel for astringent effects. It ensures the skin and mucus membranes tighten up and tone nicely but more importantly you'll be dry if you air your butt out a little afterwards. Regular wipes leave you slimy and moist, which will lead to chafing and right back to the problem you wanted to avoid.
Never poop without finishing with a wet wipe. If you've never used one, you'll be horrified your first time at what was left behind by TP.
You should get all of this. I don't think I have to explain why...
This is another thing that I think is important and self explanatory. It is also less than $5 with free shipping, so maybe gift someone else something small. :D
You're Pretty. :D
So many smiley faces! :D :D :D
> Valid points. However, If you DO want a toilet paper subscription... with Amazon, you must have a Prime subscription to get the free shipping or else you are paying more for the shipping than for the TP itself.
Sure. But your 12 pack subscription is $19.99 a month. Amazon has a 12 pack for $8.
$19.99 12 = $239.88
$8.07 12 + $99 = $195.84
So, Amazon is cheaper. And you get all the other Prime benefits, too.
My dad started keeping them around the house when I was in high school and I thought he was nuts, then I started growing ass hair and realized he is a genius. This is by far the best advice, but make sure they are flushable.
However, you're not always at home to do your business, which is where individual flushable butt wipes come in. I get them at the supermarket and keep a box at my desk at work and some in the car or my travel bag; pretty much where ever I might need them. Some of the guys at work thought I was ridiculous until they understood how great they are.
I have the same problem and I currently still cannot find good deodorant so I switch them up since I think they wear off. However I have found something that works to get rid of the odor in the middle/end of the day. They are coconut deodorant wipes. They have been a huge Lifesaver for me. I carry some in a ziplock bag in my purse. I found them on an end cap at Ulta and loved them so much I ordered more from Amazon. I hope that helps. I totally feel your pain.
Amazon link:
Pacifica Underarm Deodorant Wipes - 30 Wipe Count Package https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00ZXQQB8Q/ref=cm_sw_r_sms_apa_Q4H4xb4BKKPY4
I have also carried the whole package with me and they didn't dry out. The packaging holds up.
Edit to add: 1 wipe for both arms is plenty.
This is a great idea! Other suggestions for items are small rolls of toilet paper, those pods that fold out to washcloths when they get wet, and packets of hand wipes. :)
The compressed paper tablets are awesome. Very compact, light, and durable. The tubes that come with them store about 10 pieces. Add some water to a bottle cap and drop it in and unroll it. Then you have a wet wipe! They are multipurpose because they are so durable and dry and absorbent. Just quickly crush one between your teeth with out getting too much saliva on it and you will be able to unroll it and have a dry absorbent durable napkin or towel. I was actually able to use a couple like this to dry off after a shower when I didn’t have a towel and hold on to them for later use because they are so durable. I usually only need one per bowel movement, sometimes two. They can be folded numerous times to get multiple wipes/passes from them. There are many different sellers and manufacturers making them at this point. I recommend getting one that comes with the storage tube. They weigh about 2.4 grams a piece and diameter is somewhere between the diameter of a nickel and a dime. Here is the pack I got:
Portawipes Compressed Toilet Paper Tablet Coin Tissues - 500 Bulk Starter Pack with 4 Carrying Cases https://www.amazon.com/dp/B074K2CSQL
They are also great as an everyday carry item in case you get stuck with cheap sandpaper or none at all when traveling about. They also would make a nice face wipe.
I made similar list for myself and I found these to be helpful, best value per dollar items.
Paper Towels
Toilet Paper
Trash Bags
No, it's not like a biological contamination where it reproduces, and a tiny amount can infect a person etc. There's a finite amount of it and the dose matters a lot.
For context, people go fishing with lead weights and shooting with lead bullets. It's easy to end up with grey hands after these activities and important to wash your hands after, but even with visible exposure, you'd have to ingest a significant amount for toxicity. They do make lead-removal wipes for these sports, such as https://www.amazon.com/Hygenall-LeadOff-Disposable-Cleaning-Decon/dp/B001SJ0JIU
I think it would be overkill for your purposes but can't hurt and might provide peace of mind.
I use "flushable wet wipes" like these. At target they have them in the travel area in little packs of 10. They were a god send on road trips & camping trips. They would be easy to keep in a purse for when the occasion rises, big help with the period poops too!
Available at Amazon. Great xmas gift.

Bring a reliable pistol/rifle/firearm (may as well clean and lube it).
Bring ammo; bring extra ammo.
Bring notebook and pen/pencil.
Bring the other stuff that is on the class equipment list (magazines, holster, back-up gun w/ mags, etc).
Comfort items: weather-appropriate clothing, raingear, water, snacks, wet-wipes or de-lead wipes (for before eating snacks)
Get a good night's sleep. Show up
on time15 minutes early.I need toilet paper and a new toothbrush. :)
Cool contest!!
I'd probably lean towards something more like this: Portawipes Compressed Toilet Paper Tablet Coin Tissues. Skip to 3:19 in this video to see one opened. I know some people have sensitive ... areas though and these look pretty tough so you may want to consider other brands.
When I worked at sites that didn't provide it, or traveled to countries where it was uncommon to provide it (and bidets weren't available either), if carry something like https://www.amazon.com/d/Toilet-Paper/Toilet-Tissue-Go-6-pack/B014G8XSLY. If you know it's not going to be provided, it's really easy to prepare for (and most job sites that didn't provide it were up front when you got hired).
I highly doubt you're going to carry the food buckets. If you have another way of carrying it, great.
Duct tape will go fast. A small roll won't last long. BoB's are for 72 hours minimum and should be tailored to the user.
Fire: Can you start one in the rain and heavy wind? Not with matches. Firesteel can start one in almost any weather given good tinder and fuel.
The grenade is a POS. It's a novelty item and once unraveled is done. Most are one use items. It's light but I wouldn't buy anymore. I have a better idea for TP:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00ZIY9YG4/_encoding=UTF8?coliid=I3Q73SNXSNHIZK&colid=3VL0EKUYPM7EJ
Canadian Prepper review: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dP9U7cuzpuY
These things are far more durable than the tissue packs.
I don't know what the clear plastic bottle bag thing is, but a Sawyer Mini filtration kit or a Lifestraw for each (maybe a spare) is better. I see one, but the Sawyer is smaller and lighter.
I prefer full tang knives for heavy duty use and foldables for lighter, smaller tasks and are good at hiding.
Deoderant? No. As a BoB and if you're trying to 'hide and be silent' perfumed products will be a giveaway; to humans and animals. Not needed.
You can't carry everything. That bag might end up having to last you longer than 72 hours. As for it being heavy, you'll have to get used to it or you'll be hurting bad should SHTF tomorrow. Maximizing space is a must. I prefer packs with MOLLE webbing on the outside as well as extra pouches that can be attached. To each his/her own. What works for me and others may/may not work for you.
They should have done something like this to make it truly trumptastic.
Huge improvement: This toilet paper is "half black:"

This wet wipe alternative works pretty well. You put it right on your TP before wiping.
I think my favorite solution was the Shittens. A product I didn't even know existed. I'd have to imagine they are also far less porous than socks...

> BRING FUCKING TOILET PAPER
If you're low on space, these things are pretty sweet.
If you have barn doors, you can suspend a tarp on all three sides and fix it to the doors using spring clips. Use a pole to stop the doors from closing in and a bungee to stop them from blowing apart. Consider putting a small mat on the ground so you don't get dirty while you're getting clean.
Also consider taking a hobo shower most of the time since a real shower takes some time to set up. Basically just use water/washcloth/plastic basin; or I've heard good things about Epic Wipes.
You can also take a (big, full, high power, private, very nice) shower at Pilot/Flying J for $12; and some have dump stations and laundry. I think some campgrounds offer cheaper or even free (included) showers.
Be sure to watch Bob's videos on showers.
I enjoyed the book, but at 15.99 for only 439 sheets the pricetag is a little steep. I recommend this product, not only do you get more sheets, it's a fraction of the price with the same 3 star rating.

You gotta be a real high roller for this.
A-core-ding to the reviews, this is pretty good.
The price seemed a bit shady to me, but this doesn't have many reviews regretting it in hindsight.
Oh I could go all night. This is fun.
These are just as strong, reusable too if you want, and you can add your own scent/water: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00ZIY9YG4/
Wipe down the inside with an alcohol wipe like these
ETA: Be sure not to soak it in alcohol (or acetone or anything else) or to leave an alcohol wipe in one spot for too long. The solvents can melt the plastic.

monitor: usually a microfiber cloth does it, unless you are nasty enough to either sneeze, throw serious spit on it, or handle it with greasy hands full of doritos. Otherwise, it doesn't really need a cleaning solution. In the odd case it is needed, or have children playing around it, a screen/monitor cleaner without ammonia or alcohol in a microfiber cloth. Screen cleaning wipes already damp in solution are also sold, they are usually alcohol and ammonia free.

pay attention in class!
Last year I just assumed they were closed until I saw some girl walking out of them. Sure enough, they were unlocked and a glorious alternative to the horrible porta-potties. Someone might have popped the lock, but I was not about to complain.
Note (especially to girls): bring a travel pouch of disposable wipes like these. They take up little room in your bag and by the end of the weekend the toilet paper in the porta-potties is either non-existent or soaked in piss.
Very carefully. You've been spoiled.
Buy this, you will not regret it
Well, there's money toilet paper.
Good effort OP, you may have forgotten this...
I have about 10 of these in my backpack at any given moment.
Go ahead and laugh but they serve two purposes, cleaning up after using the restroom or freshening up in general after you've been on a sweaty train. They fucking work and it helps you feel less gross until you can take a shower.
Buy Isopropyl Alcohol Wipes. fold one of them up before you dermaroll. Roll the dermaroller on top of the folded up wipes before and after you dermaroll.
I've been dermarolling once a week for 6 months this way and haven't had issues.

The big thing for me is that they come individually wrapped (not the box shown in OP's pic, but these)
I keep a box in my desk at the office, it's handy to throw one in my suit pocket on the way to the restroom.
I buy these for when I am in a similar situation. You could bring a towel to dry off and then wipes for clean/freshness. They are women's wipes but they have more of a "clean" scent with a little fruit. If you are just way too manly for that, you can get these.

No need for toilet paper when you carry around some of these.
Really? Toilet paper with Obama's face? That's just childish regardless of what you think about the president.

You would literally have to shit diarrhea everyday 3 times a day for this to be a viable option. http://www.amazon.com/Cottonelle-Ultra-Comfort-Toilet-Paper/dp/B008EIY0F6/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1377485767&sr=8-2&keywords=toilet+paper
This isn't even a cheap brand and it cost 10 bucks for 12. OP is still hoarding tp. Why don't you use the toilet paper and put it in a baggy so you can use it on your bum again later that night...
> wool socks
Is this in addition to the 2 pairs of socks mentioned in your "transportation" section?
> Sleep/Shelter (light tarp, 2 x 50 feet of 550 Titan survivor cord, emergency Mylar blanket, portable hammock? wool blanket? woobie? bivvy bag?)
You said "4-season." Have you tested any of this in the extremes of the seasons? Especially winter?
> Illumination (LED flashlight, headlamp, spare batteries)
Enough spare batteries? Rechargeable batteries? Way to recharge said rechargeable batteries?
> Combustion (waterproof matches in waterproof container, 5 Bic lighters, Fresnel lens, Magnesium block? Ferro rod? Survivorsteel? travel lantern? 12-hour candles?)
More ways to start a fire is always good. I see no tinder, though. Having some on hand in case you can't gather any (none around, or it's all wet) is handy, and it won't take up much space. Something like Wetfire or even cotton soaked in petroleum jelly (you can store this in a ziploc or cut straws to an inch and a half or 2 inches stuff it down in there, pinch the ends with pliers and melt them with a lighter). Maybe even just carry a tiny jar of Vaseline and some cotton swabs to make a cotton tinder stick on the spot.
> Hydration (filled 40oz stainless steel water bottle, Sawyer Mini water filter)
Consider a few collapsible water bottles. No need to keep them full. If you either know you're going to go a long stretch between water sources or you're going to wander into an area where you're not sure about the water (quality or availability), you can fill them up.
> Protection (two high-capacity 9mm handguns… make and model? How much ammunition for 2 weeks?)
"How much ammo?" depends on how much you actually need to use them. Hopefully, you'd use them zero, which means that you need zero ammo. Worst case that you live through is lucking your way through daily extended gun fights. The truth would likely be somewhere in the middle.
Let's consider weight for a moment
Most handguns sold as new in the US come with 2 magazines. Standard magazine capacity for a Glock 17 or M&P9 is 17 rounds. Glock 19 and M&P9c carry 15 rounds in their standard capacity magazines. So, 2 full mags with the gun is 34 rounds for the full sized guns or 30 rounds in the compact guns. That's about a pound of ammunition in 2 magazines (rounding because I'm lazy). If you've got 2 guns that each came with 2 magazines, you have 2 pounds of ammunition between the two guns, plus the weight of the guns and the magazines themselves.
The Glock 17 has a 4.5" barrel and weighs 24.87 ounces (1.55 pounds) with an empty magazine.
The M&P9 has a 4.25" barrel and weighs 24.7 ounces (1.54 pounds) with an empty magazine.
So, for each gun with 2 full magazines, you're talking about roughly 3.5 pounds of weight, so 7 pounds if you're carrying 2 guns. The compact versions of the guns (G19 and M&P9c) aren't much lighter, so not worth factoring the difference.
Most handgun ammo comes in 50 round boxes (some of the higher end defensive ammo comes in 20 or 25 round boxes). That 50 round box weighs between 1.4 and 1.6 pounds (depending on the weight of the actual projectile used).
1 box of ammo will give you 2 loaded magazines and 16 rounds left loose (for the full sized guns, 20 rounds for the compact guns). Might as well pop for a third magazine to stuff at least most of the ammo in. And you're adding another half pound to your load for each gun you do this for.
So, 8 pounds for 2 guns, 6 loaded magazines, and 100 rounds of ammunition. How much more weight do you want to carry?
Also, please define "high-capacity."
Make and model is debatable. Lots of folks will say "Glock" without a second thought. They're reliable, no doubt, but they don't naturally point straight for a lot of people. If you're going to practice plenty, that's not a problem. If you're not, it might be. I prefer the M&P over the Glock. It naturally points straight for me.
Honestly, this is a big can of worms with no single "correct" answer, and it actually brings more questions than answers. Things like:
And many more questions, really. It deserves its own post.
> Medical Supplementation
You asked about antibiotics. Do you know how to determine what antibiotic to use? How much of it to use? Are you allergic to any antibiotics? Allergy to the penicillin family is fairly common, for example.
Seriously consider consulting your physician about this. Tell him/her you're planning an extended camping trip and you're worried about possible infection if you get a serious cut while out. Ask about a prescription for a prophylactic course of antibiotics for such an event. They might do it, they might not. If they do, fill the scrip and make note of what it is and the dosage amount and instructions and use that as a launching point for future research.
> toilet paper coins
That looks like a bad implementation of a good idea. Carry some actual TP (same type you're used to at home, pull the cardboard tube out of the middle to help it squish flatter) and/or some wet wipes. If you don't mind the bulk and the weight, go to the baby section of Wal-Mart and grab some Parent's Choice brand baby wipes. They're not flushable, definitely not septic safe, and I have no idea how biodegradable they are, but they're surprisingly tough, and reasonably cheap. I don't recall what a pack of 80 costs off the top of my head, but a case of 1200 costs $20. If you don't want to brave the baby section, grab some Charmin wipes (which are flushable if that matters to you) from the regular TP area of Wal-Mart. Avoid the Cottonelle wipes. Their structural integrity leaves much to be desired.
Also, a way to wipe your ass isn't a "creature comfort." Personal hygiene is a necessity that becomes doubly important when SHTF.
> -folding solar panel?
If you have the space (volume and weight) and have batteries to charge (like for your lights), sure, go for it.
This is starting to get long (does Reddit have a character limit?), so I'll try to breeze through a few other things:
If we get the "WW3/national SHTF/anarchy scenario," that .22 will be good to hunt with, but crap to fight with. In that scenario, a proper AR-15 in 5.56x45 NATO would be preferable, but I wouldn't want to hump 250 miles with it in the open if I didn't have to. Consider a Pistol Caliber Carbine (PCC) that takes the same magazines as your handguns (Kel-Tec has a few options, Ruger's PC9 is promising, too). It's not as good as a proper rifle, but it will extend the useful range of the handgun ammunition and magazines you're already toting. It will also add 4-6 pounds to your load, but a decent AR will ad 6 to 8 before you factor the extra magazines and ammo.
NVG are bulky and expensive. Unless you plan to move and/or fight a lot at night, I'd skip them.
The use case you make for a gas mask can be handled by a bandana or shemagh, either of which is lighter, more compact, and have other uses. If you're expecting actual gas, grab the gas mask, otherwise it's unnecessary weight.
A lightweight vest is going to stop handgun rounds but probably not rifle rounds. It's also probably going to be hot. This one's up to you. Helmet is also a personal choice. I expect it would get more actual use saving you from tree branches and falls than gun shots, but not sure if you want the extra weight, bulk, and potential heat build-up.
i bet you did pay near a dollar each too:
