A lot of different preferences when it comes to controlling pests outdoors for grows.

Some people enjoy planting companion plants that act as pest deterrent. Royal Queen Seeds has a great article on it

>COMPANION PLANTS FOR CANNABIS, THAT REPEL INSECTS

>Basil: This herb is so well regarded, it is called the king of herbs. The sweet aroma of basil in the air acts as a deterrent to aphids, asparagus beetles, mosquitoes, tomato hornworms and whitefly.

>Lemon balm: Commmonly known as melissa, lemon balm repels mosquitoes and gnats while attracting beneficial pollinators. Pluck regularly, as it can be invasive and spreads quickly.

>Dill: Dill attracts allies like honeybees and hoverflies, ichneumonids and other beneficial wasps. Swallowtail butterfly caterpillars will forgo your cannabis, as they prefer feasting on dill. Spider mites, the curse of the cannabis farmer, despise dill and will stay away in droves. Dill is also an effective repellant for aphids, cabbage looper and squash bugs.

>Yarrow: Long rooted yarrow is commonly used as a garden edge plant, so it doesn't compete for root room with your cannabis. It repels a wide range of bugs and attracts many beneficial predatory insects like ladybugs, aphid lions and hoverflies and several species of desirable parasitic wasps.

>Chamomile: The carpet of small bright white flowers will always be buzzing with delighted honeybees and hoverflies while repelling mosquitoes and flies.

>Coriander: As a front-line deterrent, coriander repels aphids, potato beetles and the dreaded spider mite and helps attract tachninid flies, hoverflies and a variety of parasitoid wasps that prey on bad bugs or their larvae.

>Lavender: The breathtaking flower spears of lavender attract several useful nectar and larvae feeding insects and your plants will always be haloed with stoked bees. Fleas, ticks and mice are repulsed by lavender.

>Peppermint: Invasive, but versatile, peppermint will attract the good guys like bees and repels ants, fleas and aphids, flea beetles and mice.

>Chervil: Grown in a guild with dill and coriander, a fortress wall of beneficial plants will surround your marijuana and keep it safe from aphids and whitefly, while attracting honeybees and parasitoid mini wasps, that feed on the larvae of hostile insect species.

>Alfalfa: This metre high grass repels the dreaded lygus bug, while attracting friends to your patch, such as ladybugs, assassin beetles and several predatory wasps.

>Marigold: A companion planting staple, the powerful and pretty marigold repels beetles and leaf hoppers, Mexican beetle and objectionable nematodes. Its buoyant bloom attracts beneficial nectar-eating species.

>Sunflowers: The advantage of sunflowers lies in their woody and fibrous resilience. They will draw sap and cellulose hungry pests away from your babies with their bright allure.

>COMPANION PLANTS FOR CANNABIS THAT IMPROVE SOIL QUALITY

>Alfalfa: Called the "king of foods", alfalfa fixes nitrogen and accumulates iron, magnesium, potassium and phosphorous. The deep roots help break up the soil, increasing water penetration and retention and slowing evaporation. It grows quickly; trim and use as mulch around your plants.

>Cerastium: Acting as a living mulch, the rapidly growing cerastium shades the soil and increases water penetration and retention. Trim often and use as mulch or compost.

>White & Red Clover: The low-growing clovers are very resilient and act as living mulch, encouraging soil friability. All the clovers fix nitrogen, which is released into the local neighbouring plants as it decomposes.

>Chamomile: Very efficient at accumulating calcium, potassium and sulphur, chamomile will release these nutrients back into the soil after it died.

>COMPANION PLANTS & ELIXIRS, THAT BOOST CANNABIS GROWTH

>Yarrow: Gardening folklore promises, that yarrow increases essential oil production in neighbouring plants.

>Chamomile: As if by magic, chamomile increases the turgor of its neighbours, including cannabis and bolsters essential oil production.

>Coriander: A tea brewed from the crushed seeds of coriander can be used as a topical spray to control spider mites far more effectively than commercial poisons.

>Alfalfa: The dried stalks can be brewed into a vitamin and mineral-rich tea, that can be sprayed on your marijuana and the whole garden to stimulate growth.

>Marigold: One of the oldest companion plants, marigold stimulates growth in their neighbours and releases a chemical into the soil, that
repels insects. This effect can last for years after.

With those plants you will still get pests during the grow season. If there isn't too many, unlikely as SoCal drought killing forests is causing a boom for insects this season, you can try to control by hand. However, if the plants get too big, even that because a no gamer.

Organic pesticides are what are recommended. Many still haven't been proven safe under combustion, and we plan to do precisely that, so there is only a few on the recommended list. Early veg, preventative maintenance with Neem Oil is recommended. I like to stop at the earliest signs of flower, usually the pre-stretch fluff is what I look for. Once in flower, Green Cleen helps with white moths, spider mites and mildew. Safe to use, but still recommended to stop during the final flush. Different hydro stores have different versions of green cleaner, some get really pricey but I find they are worth it. Finally to control caterpillars B.T.(Bacillus thuringiensis) is recommended. Many different name brands sell it, Moterey and Safe are the most trusted.

For preventative maintenance I usually use 1/2 dose once a week. So I do a 1/2 dose of green cleaner, and 1/2 dose and BT right now for flower.

I should also comment that planting outdoors in SoCal right now would only yield about 2 months of growth. Plant them in rich soil to give them as much head start as possible.

They will usually feed every 3-4 days if they have a regular source of food. They prefer to come out at night when its pitch black, they find you by detecting your body warmth and carbon dioxide, they will bite as soon as they come in contact with your skin so this is usually a good indicator as to the whereabouts of its lair (they let off pheromones as they leave their base of operations to ensure they can find there way back to it after they feed) so if most of your bites are on your face, arms you have an idea of where they are hiding (not always but its a start, bare in mind they are masters of sneak missions think metal gear meets splinter cell) a lot of the time you will find 2-3 bites all in the same general area, this is usually the same one bed bug that got startled and has come back another bite.

Heres some tips on how to beat them. Good you have a steamer, but remember that steam doesn't travel that far before cooling down, make sure to get all-around your bed, in any small cracks, I mean seriously small, due to them being flat, they can fit in surprisingly small spaces, look out for any blood and poo stains (black spots) near entrances as they will excrete any excess fluids to fit inside. Think about using expanding foam to seal any cracks you may have.

check you sheets everyday for any you may have squashed in the night, Very important to wash your sheets (everyday if possible) at least 60 degrees (90 to be sure) gently fold the sheets getting all covers to the middle and rolled before transferring DIRECTLY into washing machine if this option is eating too much money I would suggest to use your bathtub and fill with just enough hot water to the amount you need to cover the sheets (get medieval on their arses)

mattress protectors are good, but it's an attrition thing, remember that a bed bug can last over a year without food so your gonna have to keep that protector on without taking it off ONCE for over a year and a half to be sure. I personally would steam the shit outta the mattress beforehand, make sure there are no holes in the protector also, that's like leaving one gate open for the enemy to storm your keep.

As wuagbe said, food-grade diatomaceous earth is a MUST, its a great and safe way to battle the little shits. using a pesticide powder duster to spray along to skirting boards and inside cracks that steam would not be able to reach (little tip, you want an even, fine layer of diatomaceous earth (DE) so try not to puff too hard. I would suggest that after you steam the shit outta your mattress zip up your protector and leave a tiny hole for the puffer to go inside, give it a few generous puffs in different directions and then seal it up and leave for a year and a half.

If you have a divan bed then your gonna want to puff diatomaceous earth inside the two halves also, If its a sealed divan make a small hole, just big enough to fit the nozzle of the applicator inside and puff DE in all directions. Always ensure that you wear a mask when using DE, food grade is safe to use but can really irritate your breathing if inhaled, also ensure that any pets are out of the room and that the door to the room is shut and stays shut for around 30 minutes after applying to allow the dust to settle.

I would seriously recommend not allowing pets to sleep in the same room as you, they are great ways for bed bugs to spread around your house and you may not know it but your dog is most likely getting bit too, they prefer human blood but will just as likely bite pets and whats worse, they have been known to take up residence in the pet's fur.

Hopefully, they are contained to just your bedroom but eliminate the chances of them spreading into other rooms and keep an eye open, you will most likely find them close to where you rest such as bed boards, divans mattresses, sofas, pillows, check ALL folds and cracks especially along the headboard and mattress.

Get ready for a war mate, it won't be easy and itll haunt your thoughts for years to come even after winning, and whatever you do, don't squash the little fukers and then smell em, that smell still haunts me wherever I go.

Hope this helps.

PS. If you use DE then make sure its FOOD grade DE... Filter grade DE is very harmful to your health.

Also, Isomething would recommend this or somthing like this to apply it.. https://www.amazon.co.uk/iLOT-Control-Sprayer-Pesticide-outdoor/dp/B0154OTOUS/ref=pd_sbs_325_img_2/257-2910331-1699701?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B0154OTOUS&pd_rd_r=51d31d7e-28f7-4682-a460-853f6afadf68&pd_rd_w=ojmTw&pd_rd_wg=FPzut&pf_rd_p=e44592b5-e56d-44c2-a4f9-dbdc09b29395&pf_rd_r=KNED6RV4Z2X3YP6APC14&psc=1&refRID=KNED6RV4Z2X3YP6APC14

If you buy a gun do your research to figure out the right one for you before you purchase. Don't buy a gun in Seattle, the additional tax isn't worth it. Just take the drive north to a place like Precise Shooter in Lynnwood for example.

Guns should not be used for stopping crimes where your or other lives are not at risk. If your car is being broken into, someone is looting your shed, whatever you should stay in your home and call 911. There are classes you can take that will give you the only justifiable reasons to use a firearm.

Almost if not all shooting ranges allow you to rent before you buy. I would recommend that you take a training class before you rent or purchase if you don't have any training already. Also an FYI most shooting ranges will not allow you to rent a firearm if you are alone, so you will need to bring a friend to do so.

West Coast Armory for example has a number of classes right up your alley. Just as an FYI I don't work for them nor am I affiliated in anyway. Two that would be good for you would be:

Right On Target - Entry Level Handgun

Right on Target- Introduction to Home Defense

In addition to a firearm, if you own your home or condo there are some easy steps you could take to make it more secure. Things like Door Jamb armor for example make it almost impossible for someone to just kick down your door and be in your home in seconds. If you have someone coming into your backyard at night you can get motion activated lights and even sprinklers.

Get a safe for your firearm to store it in while you are not at home.

If you do not own your home, condo or apartment, there are devices you can buy to make it a tiny bit harder to run off with, without having to bolt it to the floor. Like this which is designed for a vehicle, but you could use the attached cable to wrap around something that cannot be easily destroyed like the headboard on your bed, the metal frame of a large piece of furniture, or a sturdy metal railing.

If you have questions places like /r/homedefense has a number of people that would be willing to help answer questions. /r/guns has a great FAQ that might answer a number of your questions as well.

You should absolutely bat proof your house. Your life is at stake here, not because of the bats, but because of your wife. So forget what other say about bats being desirable around your house, it does not apply to your situation, and don't dare use that in an argument with the wife.

From a technical standpoint, bat-proofing is almost impossible, as they're small and they'll make their way, so you want to uninvite them from your place. We know bats love quiet dark places, so based on your description of your place, the solution may involve:

  1. Leave lights ON in the attic 24/7, bats hate lights. Install LED lights, which are safe and won't overheat, although burning your house down would probably deter bats.

  2. buy a couple bat deterrent devices and install in attic:
    http://www.amazon.com/Pest-Control-Bat-targeting-system/dp/B003MOEDJ0
    and strobe light: http://www.amazon.com/Pest-Tools-10K-Evictor-Strobe/dp/B000E7OYBK,
or why not a combo: http://www.amazon.com/Sentinel-Ultrasonic-Repeller-Detector-Intruder/dp/B005JE9JAY

  3. Most likely bats won't be underside your deck, however, this doesn't matter, it matters how scared your wife is, so staple some chicken wire type mesh there, it will help with birds nests as well.

  4. Bask in the privileged position of being a hero for you wife. She'll brag about you for for months!

  5. Don't ever ask yourself if there really were any bats in first place, it's not worth it.

    EDIT:
instead of 24/7 lighs in the attic, just add some strobe lights like these:

Edit: In response to your edit about bird mites, most of my bed bug bites were on my legs. My gf got bit everywhere. So don't use that as a determining factor in figuring out what you're dealing with.

Assuming they ARE bed bugs, then let me share some experience with you. We had them for probably half a year. Caused my gf and I an absolutely huge amount of stress. It's an embarrassing affliction which can make having company over or visiting others an absolute nightmare.

We did all of this to no avail:

  • Washed and extended dried all of our clothes/sheets/blankets
  • Put down diatomaceous earth
  • Sprayed neem oil all over
  • Had a professional come and spray our house twice
  • Bought bed-bug-proof covers for our mattress and all pillows.
  • GF tried putting down tea tree oil.

None of that seemed to make any difference. It may have helped though. Hard to say. At that point, we were still being bitten.
The only thing that seemed to work was PT Alpine Flea & Bed Bug spray. It was recommended to us by a family friend who, as a professional exterminator, had attended seminars specifically for bed bugs. We bought a few cans and sprayed everything down including around our bed and inside our recliners. The poison stays in place for a long time on the surfaces you spray it on so even if you miss some eggs or whatnot, as long as they have to crawl through it to get anywhere near you, they will die. So spray the bed frame and areas around where you stay quite thoroughly. We also changed our sheets every night (ugh).

They slowly started to disappear after that.

One thing that can help confirm is to get the cardboard sticky traps and put them near your bed. We found a couple big ones in it after a couple days which helps confirm them.

Can also get interceptors for your bed so they can't climb the bed posts.

    Other tips:

  • Spray out drawers/dressers and luggage bags.
  • If you stay at a seedy hotel/motel, put your luggage bags in the bathroom on the tile. This was recommended to me by an exterminator. We're pretty sure a shitty hotel was how we got ours in the first place.
  • They tend to congregate/live only where you spend a good amount of time. They look for CO2 from your breathing so typically they will hang out near your bed, recliners or couch in the living room, or anywhere a pet stays a lot of the time like a dog bed or similar.
  • If you have pets, make sure to keep them up-to-date on flea medication.
  • If you have gaps in your baseboard on the floor near your bed, I recommend spraying diatomaceous earth down into it just for extra help.

You could get a motion activated sprinkler. Super easy to use and humane. Worth the price in entertainment value alone.

  1. Notify maintenance anyway - costs you nothing.
  2. Use Ant Bait in the future, not spray.
u/Vect0r · 2 pointsr/minnesota

Have you tried these? Pretty basic solution, but has worked perfectly for us.

u/surfnsound · 2 pointsr/philadelphia

This stuff seems to be like ant crack. I put it down Sunday night. The number of ants drastically reduced within hours. I still asee a straggler or two, but I feel like it's working better than anything else I have tried.

u/fooljoe · 2 pointsr/orangecounty

I picked up one of these and it worked pretty well for a while. Batteries die and water could leak though (my hose eventually burst). I also tried an ultrasonic model but that didn't seem quite as effective. There are other things you could try like coyote urine.

Bug A Salt!!!!

haha I hate bugs in my house and this is the perfect solution!!!

I dont really need it because I have a fly swatter, but this is waaaaayyyyy better than a fly swatter!!!

u/Zagaroth · 1 pointr/BedBugRemoval

Good. In the mean time, coat your apartment and all your stuff in a layer of Cimexa dust. It's worth every penny, and the extreme dryness your skin will feel. Neem Oil soap will help keep you moisturized and may help fight the bed bugs. (It's definitely good for your skin, not sure about it's anti-insect properties). Include your vehicle in the dusting process. Hand bellows help spread it nicely.

Begin a sanitization cycle of all your clothes, bedding, etc. New box of black heavy duty trash bags, wash & dry on full heat (unless clothes are delicates....) and seal bags with tape. A coating of Cimexa (inside and out) is not a bad idea. Keep anything you don't need immediately sealed until after you are moved.

Your mattress and box spring are toast, bag them for now (there are bed bug liners for them), toss them when you move. Same with pillows. For sentimental items you can get a portable steam cleaner, but you'll want to dust and bag them immediately after cleaning, and keep them there for 18 months (Bed Bugs can live at least 16 months without feeding, in a dormant state).

Read all the posts in this sub, check out the links, and prepare yourself for war. They can be incredibly hard to get rid of, and if the whole building isn't cleared out they will just simply spread from where ever they survive, so you have to be super defensive of your apartment until you can move.

Wife and I had to throw out this great radio alarm clock that set its own time from reading clock signals on certain frequencies because bed bugs had taken up residence and it wasn't worth it to keep it.

u/Thriftywifty · 1 pointr/plantclinic

You aren't likely to see the mites themselves, look for really delicate webbing on the undersides of the leaves and on top of the soil.

I bought this stuff https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07M983TRL/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_92pADbABN963J because it doesn't smell like neem oil or cause plants to sunburn. So far it's worked beautifully as a treatment for mites and mildew, and I haven't seen anything on the plants I've pretreated (though I may just be lucky with this one)

u/RayRay614 · 5 pointsr/Columbus

It is a little device that difuses their cartridges into the air around you creating a "safe zone". I've been skeptical but more and more people keep telling me about it. I might go pick one up for the 4th of July BBQ and see if it helps.

I use an electric one if my cat doesn't eat the fly in the first place. Plus it's fun when you're drunk with friends. I would look into that salt shotgun thing, that looks fun.

u/Kyla_420 · 1 pointr/microgrowery

Not sure if you were using neem oil or green cleaner but unlike neem oil, green cleaner can be used up to harvest day. I used it a year or so back when I had some mites late in flower. I also did a lemon juice water rinse of my buds while harvesting to make sure there weren't any creepy crawlers and it worked really well.

For indoor treatment depending on your budget there's two different options. CyKick CS is a great all purpose pesticide. Works for 30-45 days, singular can could last you easily 4 months.

An alternative is Temprid FX. Its pricey but you can mix up a .99 cent spray bottle of it using just a few ml and treat your home inside and out. This is enough to last a couple years. You could double down and buy a backpack sprayer from Home Depot or Lowes for about $60 and do your home perimeter.

u/lockedinaroom · 1 pointr/RandomKindness

I AM NOT A PROFESSIONAL EXTERMINATOR. But here's something that worked for me and another family.

https://www.amazon.com/Tempo-Control-Insecticide-Spiders-Silverfish/dp/B0041ND0ZY/ref=sr_1_7?keywords=temprid&qid=1574039270&sr=8-7

That stuff mixed with cold water in a sprayer. Do it every couple of days. It will take a couple months to fully get rid of them all. Spray everywhere! In all the cracks, in bed frames, etc... One bottle should last 28-30 sprayings. Some suggest using double strength the first time or two to really knock them down.

You'll need a sprayer like this: https://www.amazon.com/Chapin-International-20000-1-Gallon-Translucent/dp/B000E28UQU/ref=sr_1_5?keywords=gallon+sprayer&qid=1574039711&sr=8-5

Fill halfway with cold water, dump in 8-16 ml of the insecticide (it comes with a measuring cup as you can see in the product picture), and fill the rest of the way with cold water. Spray EVERYTHING. (I hear it doesn't last sitting in the bottle so dispose of it after spraying and make a new batch every time but could be wrong.)

The Bedlam is good or so I hear but will not last nearly as long as the Tempo SC and the sprayer. There are also 'single serving' packs you can get. https://www.amazon.com/Temprid-FX-Insecticide-8ml-Bottle/dp/B07DYCB5TT/ref=sr_1_15?keywords=tempo%2Bsc&qid=1574040070&sr=8-15&th=1 One to two packets per gallon of water.

A good fungicide should help. I like [Safer Brand 3-in-1.] (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B002ITKYRK/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_awdb_t1_i-YrDbATF07JS)

u/mdwyer · 2 pointsr/Seattle

Yeah, they walk right over the dry ant baits without even stopping. I haven't tried the Terro or DuPont brands, but I've had really good luck with fipronil gel. Just make sure you keep it indoors, as this insecticide has been implicated in honeybee death.

The Bug A Salt is my preferred weapon for dealing with the bastards. It's a little air shotgun that shoots a spray of table salt. It's marketed as a way to deal with flies, but I find it works even better with mosquitoes (it is extremely satisfying to blow them out of mid-air!).

You will be fine. Don’t consume anything that was open. Wipe down all counters. And don’t use a flea bomb next time. Try this. It’s an amazing product. The company I work for has a renowned R&D team, we test almost every product on the market to see what we should use in our protocol. This is our winner.

Bug spray, I think some sun screen lotions have bug repellent in them, and they make those little clip on bug repellent things as well: https://www.amazon.com/Clip-Mosquito-Repellent-Refills-Protection/dp/B002AQK09I

Could also keep those bucket citronella candles with you as well and just keep them off frame, or edit them out haha.

man welcome to the club. I'm, hopefully, coming out of this problem. if it weren't for bubble bags, i feel like i would have lost most of my last harvest crop to spider mites.

im a big fan of dunking plants in a 5 gallon bucket of water and [http://www.amazon.com/EverGreen-Pyrethrum-Dust-10-oz/dp/B002Y5MOH6/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1452394117&sr=8-1&keywords=pyrethrum+dust] (pyrethrum dust), neem, and all sorts of folaiars, neem, alcohol, soap, water; safer soap; different extract blends; pyrethrum in water; etc.

&npsp;

a few grows ago, i asked a hydro store if they had avid and they sold me some under the table. that was killer. i never noticed a difference, and the latest i sprayed was at the flip to 12-12. but i ran out, and hoped to keep everything safer.

i've used bombs. but by the time i consider bombs, it was too late. that's just me. maybe you move quicker.

if your in flower, i'd say run it till the plants die, make ice hash, bleach your tent and be try to keep a ipm preventative schedule. that's literally what I'm in the middle of. with the ipm, i do good, but when i do good, i lose vigilance, and get nets again. its a constant battle.

u/fleebnork · 1 pointr/daddit

I've had good luck with Combat Gel. You can squirt it into cracks or holes where your kiddo can't get to it.

u/invisiblephrend · 1 pointr/pics

it's been a couple years since i've had to use it, but this stuff is fantastic.

u/MarginalOmnivore · 3 pointsr/whatsthisbug

That's because it's a nymph. Until roaches reach adulthood, they are wingless. Because of the size and stripes, I'd say it's a German. If this is in your house, I personally recommend Combat gel. It's discreet, and (for me at least!) works better than roach motels.

u/snowmanjc · 1 pointr/GrowingMarijuana

Bro, it's not good, you have mites. When leafs get brown like that and start to curl and "taco" it means mites. you see all those little white/yellow spots on the leaves? those are spots where the mites have sucked the nute out of the leaves.

Have you been spraying for mites? If not start now. You don't seem to be in flower so you should be ok with spraying. Mites can get immune to 1 type of insecticide so it is best to use two.

I used:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01J37ELI2/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

and https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0768L3Z6T/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

it took me weeks before I figured out it was mites. I would invest in a magnifying glass specific for looking at mites and take a look under the leaves. I ended up buying predatory mites as well to try and stop the spread but it was too late and I had to harvest early.

edit: to add if you look at the bottom of the leaf on the middle left you can see what appears to be mites (little white dotes)

u/Breakr007 · 1 pointr/funny

I went up to Rumney a couple days ago and had this clipped on to the back of my harness and it worked pretty well.

u/kilrkilrwhale · 2 pointsr/microgrowery

Yeah it does. Check it out. It's a soybean oil based product that you can use until the last day of harvest, if needed to be. Doesn't bother the flowers at all. Just make sure you use it at least 1 hour before lights are on. Cause your plants will fry! I fried a couple of teens outdoors one cloudy morning.

Borax is a brand name but for the Earth, I do not think there is a difference. You can get FDA safe dirt but I believe that only makes it safe to eat not breathe. It settles quickly so your only breathing during application, and I'd recommend a mask if you have one to avoid irritation.

If your doing a whole house, or many applications then I recommend this over a turkey baster - it speeds up the process quick a bit, and it saves you some money(not much) by applying thinner coats over larger areas. I've never used that one but just that type of applicator.

u/MakeItLegalBitches · 2 pointsr/microgrowery

I think you'll be fine on this one. Most of us that grow have done FAR worse than this in the name of science and learning so don't let it get you down. I've lost a several thousand dollar crop to botrytis and that didn't stop me from continuing to grow (it did break my spirit for a couple weeks though; I didn't even want to look at my garden).

Since we know the strain, I can tell you that you probably have 60+ days of flowering left on her before she is done. Autoflowers are a bit weird in their 'flowering time' since it's timing is genetic, rather than photoperiod.

You're going to have to constantly contend with bugs outdoors and neem oil is most effectively used as a preventative. You shouldn't use it again while in flower (it'll make your buds taste like shit if you continue to use it). Might I suggest Green Cleaner as your solution. You can use this all the way up to day of harvest without it negatively affecting your flowers. I use it on my outdoor grows and it works beautifully.

u/Lo-Ammi · 1 pointr/AskReddit

Extreme heat works best, but not always practically possible. Best other way is pyrethin dust. Kills everything that crawls, I kid you not, not a single ants, spiders, anything in my house for a year after use.

The question and answer section for the Bug-a-salt is fucking hilarious!

u/thebanished · 13 pointsr/philadelphia

You probably don't want to know this but they can get through just about anything including brick walls. I took down a section of wall on a rehab recently and in the loose mortar joints were hundreds of eggs, all through out. Wherever I repoint, i find eggs. Joist pockets, more roach eggs. They can squeeze into extremely small spaces, travel through out your house and breed that way.

My best advice is to use poison like Combat and to be careful how you store your food and garbage.

u/bengye · 2 pointsr/gardening

This is my parlor palm. It grew like crazy for 3 years then i had issues with mealy bugs. I'd treat it with a this supposedly Safer sulfur and fatty acid treatment. Safer sulfur and fatty acid treatment.

The mealy bugs would return every few months. Before repotting the palm I pulled it out of the soil, stripped away all the soil, and scrubbed the crevices at the base with the above mention treatment using a toothbrush. Now it's in a much larger pot with fresher soil and some of the leave clusters are looking like they're dying, some look like they're fine.

Did I kill it trying to get the mealy bugs to go away?

For your sake, do NOT delay treatment at all. Fleas can make your life and your dog's a living hell. They reproduce so fast. Your pets should be on flea medication year round.

Give them the meds, start vacuuming daily and buy a can of alpine. Trust me when I say you really want to nip this in the bud.

After vaccumung and trying everything for months, the only thing that worked was using alpine flea chemical. All the natural bullshit never worked. Gotta use the shit exterminators use.

PT Alpine Flea & Bed Bug Pressurized Insecticide - 20 oz. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B005YP8BTS/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_tMe3Cb8F6BZRY

Basically you give your pets capstar to kill all the fleas on them, vacuum to wake up the eggs and get the fleas hoppin, spray this and evacuate for a few hours. Then vacuum again every day. It should work.

I had the same problem last week, tiniest ants I've ever seen.
Researched options, and bought this stuff - Combat Ant Killing Gel with Fipronil.

Squirt it in the cracks where you see ants, and try to find the main entrance to their hive. It doesn't kill the ants immediately, they take it back to the hive and feed the others there. Then in a couple days the poison kicks in.

Tried it and 2 days later no more ants. This stuff is amazing.
